If you ask anyone to name some vital human organs, the chance is that the heart or the lung will show up in many answers.  It makes sense though, not these organs are vital but there are also more discussed in medicine and the media.

We all agree that it is very important to take care of our vital organs. For instance, our heart gets healthier and stronger when we do regular aerobic exercises and eat food with bad cholesterol.

Muscles are also vital for our survival just like the heart – which is muscles by the way – and other organs like kidneys, or lungs. Any movement you make literally involved a muscle or muscles. Even when you are not moving, muscles like the heart keep functioning to keep you alive.


Why should you keep your muscle well maintain?

Many times, we take for granted our ability to move freely with no effort. We don’t realize that our muscle health is the one doing the job. Being young mostly goes with a highly active lifestyle, which keeps our muscles active most of the time, strengthening them.

As when we age older, our lifestyle can suddenly to a sedentary one.  Family life, Job, and other responsibilities will likely add stress to our everyday routine, but worst, we might no have enough time to exercise. Most of us will end up spending more time on the couch than at the gym because well, the comfy couch is irresistible after en long day😴

But don’t let you trapped in this easy way out to your stressful day. If you don’t move it, you will lose it.

Of course, I am talking about losing your muscle💪

You see, muscle mass decreases when they are not continually challenged to deal with a high level of resistance or weight.

I live in New York City, so I can easily notice when my muscles are so weak that climbing the subway station stairs can give me some discomfort. It instantly reminds me that I missed multiple gym sessions.

Your muscles will get stronger and bigger when they are regularly exercising, which gives stamina, good flexibility, and improve your quality of life.

It is important to keep in mind that muscle development significantly increases if exercise is:

  • consistent
  • challenging
  • long-term

Good nutrition is also important for muscle health and growth.

Good nutrition is as important as exercising to build muscle and keep them healthy. It could be tempting to feed on all the junk food out there to try to get as many calories as you want.

But junk food is not a healthy choice. Instead, focus on unprocessed food and high-protein healthy alternative food.
